2023: Obi urges Nigerians to insist on hearing from  Presidential Candidates, not proxies From Chuks Collins, Awka Aug 27,2022 The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi has asked the electorate to insist on a direct contact/address by the presidential candidates, and to ignore messages of those speaking through proxies. Obi who dropped the wise counsel while addressing Nigerian citizens in Frankfurt, Germany who came out in large numbers to welcome him, at the weekend. Amichi Community Elects New PG From Chuks Collins  Amichi community in Nnewi South Local Goverment Area of Anambra on Saturday elected her President General (PG) who will pilot the affairs of the union for the next four years. Ninety delegates from the four quarters namely, Okpala, Ezeudene, Afube and Ebenasa were cleared to participate in the town union election. Chief Cletus Udegbuana, Evang. Emeka Ezekiel and Chief Chukwujekwu Odikaezieme actually signified their intention to contest in the election but on the election day, Chief Chukwujekwu Odikaezieme withdrew from the race. At the end of proceedings, Udegbuana polled a total of Eighty votes to defeat his opponent Evang Ezekiel who garnered ten votes. Henry Ndukuba on Friday commissioned Law faculty building of Paul University, Awka, Anambra State amid protest by the staffer of the school. The facility, named after Archbishop of Niger Province His Grace Rt Rev. Alexander Ibezim was inaugurated by the Primate alongside Archbishop of Enugu Diocese, Rt. Rev. By Ikechukwu Okafor Former Anambra Legislator Abducted A two time member of Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon Benson Nwawulu has been abducted by gunmem. The former lawmaker sources claimed was abducted in his Ihiala family house. The abducted former lawmaker who is in his seventies was also a former chairman of Ogbaru Local Goverment Area of the state. Hon Benson Nwawulu took an unsuccessful shot at the House of Representatives in 2019 before retiring to his Ihiala community.
