Group Battles Obiano Over Non Conduct Of Council Polls

Recover Nigeria Project (RNP) has written to the Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano about their intention to embark on hunger strike to press home their demand for the conduct of council polls in the state.

The letter which was signed by the coordinator of the group, Comrade Ositadimma was made available to journalists in Awka.

Obi said the hunger strike would commence on August 17 and end on 1st September.

The group said that the hunger strike is occasioned by the failure of the state governor to conduct local government election after they had earlier written to him sometime in July 2019.

The RNP however threatened that they would commence civil disobedience immediately after their hunger strike by occupying all the local government secretariats in Anambra State so as to get the attention of the world and Federal Government to the issue.
