Kwara Governor Declares 24 Hours Curfew In Ilorin Metropolis

 The Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq has declared 24 hours curfew in Ilorin metropolis.

Gov AbdulRasaq stated this in a radio broadcast.

He said he had consulted with the traditional rulers, religious leaders, students union and youth bodies as well as other stakeholders.

The Kwara State governor stated emphatically that the kind of looting and vandalization perpetrated in Ilorin the state capital can not be said to be a protest.

He said that the government has a responsibility of protecting lives and properties and as such cannot afford to stand akimbo while hoodlums are running rings round the city.

Gov AbdulRasaq ordered security operatives to ensure compliance even as he urged law-abiding persons to stay at home.
