3 Illegal Revenue Collectors Arrested In Anambra

Following the ban on collection of revenue on road by Gov Willie Obiano of Anambra State, police in the state has arrested three suspects for violation of government directive.

Police operatives attached to the Command Rapid Response Squad(RRS) while on patrol burst an illegal revenue collectors along MCC junction Obosi and upoer Iweka General area.

The news of the arrest was contained in the press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Anambra State command, Mr Haruna Mohammed (SP)

The suspects arrested are  forty year old Paul Nnamdi Okonkwo of Amafor village, Nkpor, twenty three year old Chukwura Ebube also of Amafor village, Nkpor and Cynthia Agbaero of Afisiri village in Ugheli North LGA of Delta State.

The súspect upon arrest claimed they were revenue collectors hired by HON. Innocent Offordile alleged to be the "SSA to the Governor on Security and  Chairman enforcement and compliance Committee"who was also invited by the Police for questioning in order to ascertain his level of involvement or otherwise after which suspects would be brought to book.

Haruna reassured that police and other law enforcement agencies in the state will continue to ensure the strict enforcement of government decision banning revenue collection on all the roads in the state.
