Land Issue: 2 Arrested In Imo For Planting Human Head In Opponent's Compound

The Imo State Police Command has arrested sixty one year old Onumajuru Godwin and forty one year old Agubosim Chukwuemeka both of Eziama Obiato, Mbaitoli local government area of the state for planting human head in the compound of their opponent.

The news of the arrest of the two suspects was contained in a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the command, Ikeokwu Godson Orlando (SP)

Orlando said that on the 4/5/2020, Onumajuru Godwin and Agubosim Chukwuemeka reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters that Emmanuel Onuwa murdered an unidentified person, and hid the head in a water tank (GP Tank) in his compound.

He said that Emmanuel Onuwa and his children were arrested based on the information supplied by the two suspects who reported the matter to the police.

A decomposing human head according to the PPRO was recovered from
the water tank in Onuwa's compound.

The hunter however became the hunted as Emmanuel Onuwa in a bid to prove his innocence through his lawyer wrote a petition to the Commissioner of Police requesting that the case should be re-investigated.

Sequel to the petition, the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Isaac O. Akinmoyede(CP) ordered a revisit of the matter.

The PPRO said that police operatives on 15/8/2020 at about 11.00pm, upon discreet and painstaking investigation arrested Onumajuru Godwin and Agubosim Chukwuemeka, for planting the human head in the water tank.

Orlando said that preliminary investigation revealed that both parties have been involved in a running battle over a land dispute, thus necessitating the setting-up/of allegation against Emmanuel Onuwa, in order to ensure that he is jailed, that way they can have unhindered access into the dispute land.

The two suspects he said have confessed to the crime though they claimed that they got the head from a corpse at Njaba river bank.
