We Only Paid Victor Umeh A Courtesy Visit, We Didn't Endorse Him, IPAC Declares

The Anambra State chapter of Inter-party Advisory Council (IPAC) says it neither endorse Chief Victor Umeh nor asked the All Progressives Grand Alliance - (APGA) to give him its Anambra Central Senatorial ticket.

IPAC expressed shock by the media report in some section of the media that the State Chairman of IPAC Comrade Uche Ugwoji, who is also the Chairman of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) has endorsed Sir Victor Umeh.

Ugwoji wondered how and upon what basis IPAC would adopt Victor Umeh when the other political parties have their own aspirants and worst still, when Victor Umeh has not won APGA primary for Anambra Central senate.

"We paid a courtesy call on Victor Umeh as regards his aspiration, we paid similar visit to other aspirants, our message to the aspirants is peaceful conduct of the election and the need to shun violence. We cannot adopt somebody who has not gone for primary." He said.

"We are refuting the claim because we have not adopted anybody. How can seasoned politicians; you know the makeup of IPAC; how can we go on and adopt an aspirant when we have other political parties there? So as Chairman of IPAC and I have a candidate running from my party, how can I go and adopt an APGA aspirant? Can't you see its ridiculous." Ugwoji quipped.

IPAC chairman said emphatically that his group is not in a position to advise APGA on her choice of who becomes what.
