Anambra State governor, Prof. Charles Soludo has appreciated the enormous and meritorious feat of the out-going State Commissioner of Police,  Aderemi Adeoye in dislodging kidnappers and other criminal elements from eight LGAS of the state on assumption of office.  

Gov Soludo who spoke through his deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, at Ekwueme Square, Awka during Saturday's pull-out of the Commissioner of Police noted that Adeoye assumed office at the time the state government was battling insecurity of unknown gunmen who are fighting law-abiding citizens across the dtate especially in the said embattled  Council Areas.

He obsrved that the criminal elements constitute les than 2% of the entire populace of the state, adding that the era marks the beginning of the success story  of CP Adeoye's resounding crime prevention and combat accomplishments.         

According to him, the spirit of dedication, sincerity of purpose and doggedness of the out-going Police boss contributed to the feat, for which the state adopted him as a honourary citizen of the State. 

In his own speech, CP Adeoye said the country has invested so much on him, product of which manifested in his academic and crime-fighting feats, stressing that Anambra where he assumed office and  retiring May 1, 2024 was his crowning glory. 

Adeoye explained that his policing career in Anambra State spanned nine years when he served under seven Commissioners of Police, rose to Deputy Commissioner of Police and later Commissioner of Police in Anambra State since July 2023.

He disclosed that Anambra remains an numero uno among the committee of states, revealing he immensely appreciated the street named after him and the chieftaincy titles he was nominated to bag in the state.   

The symbolic pulling out ceremony done by senior police officers in the state was crowned with a grand reception at International Conference Center (ICC) in recognition of the meritorious service rendered by the CP to Anambra State. 

The Anambra State Commissioner for Social Welfare, Children and Wonen Affairs, Ify Obinabo speaking at the reception said the out-going CP greatly assisted the Ministry to up the game for women and children in particular so that they would not be humiliated.   

In his own remarks, the Traditional Ruler  of Umueri, Anambra East Local Council Area, Igwe Ben Emeka lauded the shinning examples of the out-going  CP,  whom he said would  be very much missed by Gov Soludo and the good people of the state  whose lives and property he protected with passion.                           

Also, the Traditional Ruler of Obosi, Idemili North LGA described CP Adeoye as a courageous man of integrity, hard-working and wonderful crime fighter who equally encouraged young officers to work hard.  

The highpoint of the occasion was the launch of a biography of CP Adeoye entitled, "X-ray of Adeoye's Leadership Principles: The Eulogies."
