Enugwu-Agidi Gets Interim PG, Suspends Ebuka Onuorah

Following the suspension of the immediate past President-General of Enugwu-Agidi Community in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, Mr. Ebuka Onuorah by the Enugwu-Agidi Brotherly Union (EBU), Nigeria on 20th November, 2025 because of his unbearable gross misconducts, his Vice, Ozo Kenechukwu Darlington Okoye, has ascended the exalted seat as the interim President-General of the Community. 

On assumption of office yesterday at the EBU Secretariat, the new Interim President- General, Ozo Okoye, found out that the secretariat"s gate was under lock and key by the alleged tugs expected to have been hired by the embatling Ebuka Onuorah with a view to disrupting the first inaugural meeting of the interim President-General, Ozo Okoye, and his team, scheduled to hold at the secretariat. 

Following the development, Ozo Okoye ,who conducted his maiden press conference at the EBU Secretariat's gate,assured the people that his leadership came for peace, nothing but peace for evenly development of the community.

Ozo Okoye, who was the son of later Elder Gabriel UFo Okoye of Ogwugwu Village Enugwu-Agidi, doubled as the National Chairman of the village as well as a programme officer 11 in the National Orientation Agency ( NOA), Anambra State Directorate, Awka. 

The PG, who said that he is a full blooded son of Enugwu-Agidi, maintained that his Mother, Mrs. Okwundu Dorathy Okoye, hailed from Dile family in Umuokalonyeocha of Umuakwuelo clan in Etiti village of the community. 

He noted that he grew up in the community, and equally attended his early elementary education in the area as well, and lived most of his lives n Enugwu-Agidi, stressing that he loved his very dear community, and will do everything humanly possible ,and within his powers to make the community great again. 

He used the opportunity, offered him by the press conference to make it very clear that he will serve people of the community with utmost respect, and honour during the period of their interim administration in without being biased. 

The PG, however, pledged to abide by the principles of the EBU, Nigeria's constitution, upholding cordial relationship with all organs of leadership in the community, ranging from EBU, Nigeria, Igwe Okekeuche, and his cabinet members, Ulonabo, Council of Elders, EBU women wing , and youths of the community,among others.

"I want to use this opportunity to appeal for peace, justice, and unity, we are prepared for our December General conference which will take place on 29th December, 2025.

The interim President-General, Ozo Okoye, called on the people who loved Enugwu-Agidi to work together with his administration with a view to bringing a lasting peace, and unity to their beloved town,adding that his successor , Mr Ebuka Onuorah was suspended because of the enormity of the atrusities he committed in the community . 

He added that,the said Ebuka Onuorah ,had not been carrying the community along in his scheme of things , stressing that the community is tired of his uncontrollable arrogant in the community for years, and, cannot condone him any more. 

"He has no regard for EBU,Nigeria, and the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the union, Igwe Okekeuche, and his cabinet members ,as well as Elders council of the town, we come for peace",he harped. 

He said that they are putting every necessary mercenaries in motion to ensure that the sons, and daughters of the community both at home , and in the diaspora come home , and celebrate the 2025 yuletide in the community in a very conducive atomsphere devoid of all forms of fear.

  He pointing out that they have before now made the present conditions of the community known to Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for his urgent intervention. 

In their separate contributions, the Secretary General of EBU, Nigeria, Mr.Israel Amuta Chimeze, and the Chief Provost of the Union, Comrade, Okechukwu Okenwa Okam, reminded the interim PG that to whom much is giving, much is expected, and enjoined him to work towards redeeming the battered image of Enugwu-Agidi community under the leadership of the controversial Ebuka Onuorah, describing his gross misconducts during his tenure as very alarming ,and unacceptable by the people of Enugwu-Agidi. 

The appealed to Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo,(Oluatuegwu) to come to the rescue of the community by calling Ebuka Onuorah,and his lieutenants to order,so that the community's Central Executive Committee's conference billed to hold on 29th December, 2025,should not be disrupted in all manners in the community.
