Association of Non Indigenes Welfare in Anambra State(ANISA/ANIAS), has urged non indigenes in Anambra State to remain law abiding while the government is working round the clock to resolve the issue of Onitsha Main Market closure amicably.

The President General (PG) of ANISA/ANIAS, Chief Great Ikechukwu Ugwuoke JP (Dike Chinagbaluogu) made this call in a press release made available to journalists in Awka on Wednesday.

The statement reads, "Association of Non indigenes in Anambra State by this press release urge our members to remain Law Abiding as the administration of Gov Charles Chukwuma Soludo, see the reason to look into the five years negative effects of 'sit at home' on Mondays ordered by the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

"We call on all non-indigenes residing in Anambra State as traders, professionals, and civil servants to remain law-abiding as Mr Governor proceeds to bring peace and permanent solution to the issue under his watch.

"We assure all the Indigenes and non indigenes in Anambra State that temporary closure of the Onitsha main market will soon be resolved to the benefit of all the traders and non traders alike."

Chief Ugwuoke stressed that anyone who goes against the laws of Anambra State or refuses to comply with the governor's directive should rather blame himself for any consequence, instead of blaming the devil.

The PG of ANISA, ANIAS specifically advised non-indigenes not to participate in any form of protest, demonstration, or unrest in connection with the temporary closure of Onitsha Main Market or any market closure elsewhere.

He said protests and demonstrations can jeopardize peace, security and progress of the state.

"We strongly believe that dialogue and lawful engagement should be the basic channels for addressing such disagreement.

"We urge all non-indigenes in Anambra State to continue to respect and obey the laws of the state, adhere to government policies, and contribute positively to the peace, stability, growth and development of the State." He asserted.
