Anambra Prophet's Press Briefing
Speech Delivered By Prophet Ikechukwu Uzukwu, Spiritual Head, Soul Revival Outreach, Nnewi, Anambra State
Gentlemen of the Press. I welcome you all to this special press briefing occasioned by anomalies going on in Nigeria.
I am neither a member of City Boys Movement nor Village Boys Movement, I am a member of People's Movement.
INTRODUCTION:
Necessity is laid upon me to cry out as many Voices that been speaking against the ills in Nigeria have been silenced by the government of the day.
One can say without fear of contradiction that there is no political party in Nigeria of today carrying out constructive criticism of the government in power. All political parties are only dancing to the gallery of campaigning to wrestle power from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
But their conducts and attitudes are not portraying any seriousness, as they are either engaged in self destruct war of attrition or personal and selfish aggrandizement.
Nigeria under the administration of Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration has become a nation consuming her own people.
INSECURITY:
To say that there is Insecurity in Nigeria, is an understatement, the number of Nigerians who have lost there lives due to violent attack by criminal elements under the watch of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is unprecedented.
There is hardly any day that abduction and wanton killing of Nigerian by terrorists of different leanings are not reported. If it is not ISIS, it will be other criminals operating with reckless abandon because of the failure of government of the day to crush them.
Nigeria has become a Safe Nest for criminal to operate with boldness without fear of arrest, tried in Court and eventually get a well deserved punishment for their sins.
The beauty of traveling on the road from the South to North and East to West has become history, many people who dares to travel on roads in Nigeria of today have either paid the supreme sacrifice or are made to pay humongous ransoms to bandits.
It's doubtful if the huge budgetary allocations meant for security are actually effectively spent on the security agencies and security operatives.
UNEMPLOYMENT:
In the past and even recent times, jobs were waiting for school graduates before they complete their various studies, but today the story has changed. White or black collar jobs are no longer readily available for young school leavers. To make things worse for Nigerian youths, the curriculum of the educational institutions are not such that guarantee self employment. Many courses students waste precious time to study irrelevant and useless. The problem is not with the students and their parents but a system that is so exploitative and criminal.
COLLAPSE OF INDUSTRIES/COMPANIES:
Closely related to the above is the fact that many industries and companies have closed up especially under this dispensation than any other due lack of government support and or patronage. In recent past, there is hardly any street in Nnewi that one will not find a thriving company or industry, it is because of the capacity to set up industries through personal efforts that earned Nnewi and Industrial Town status.
One can say without fear of contradiction that the administration of BAT has supervised the burial of many companies and factories than all the preceding administrations joined together.
Consequently, the Nnewi main market evolved and grew alongside the Industries and companies.
Today, plenty of the Industries and companies have gone under, thereby throwing many people out of their jobs.
The market which evolved with the thriving cottage industries, now specializes in selling imported items.
HUNGER:
Many families in Nigeria can no longer afford one square meal, infact the rste at which people beg for alms in the country is alarming and at the same time worrisome. Most of the beggars are doing so because of the failure of government at all levels have become reckless and irresponsible in the way and manners resources are mobilized. The government of Bola Ahmed Tinubu believes so much in giving palliative to the poor. In most cases, the so called palliatives like rice, beans and other items do not really get to the target audience. Such gestures normally end up in the house of the political class.
WAY FORWARD:
The administration of a country like Nigeria so blessed with abundance of natural and human resources cannot be left in the hands of clueless and poorly educated individuals. As the 2027 general elections is fast approaching, it is incumbent on all Nigerians irrespective of tribe and religion to rally round an individual who can save Nigeria from the unabated socio-economic failure foisted on them by Mr Tinubu and his associates.
Nigerians should know that hunger and starvation has no tribe or religion, hunger is hunger in Sokoto, Oyo, Anambra, and Rivers.
In the light of the above, it is about time to start looking at direction of Turaki of Adamawa, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria who actually was the brain box behind the modest achievements of the administration of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
Nigeria cannot continue to do things the same way and continually hoping and praying for different results. Time has come to get rid of politics of ethnicity and tribalism.
The most competent person should be encouraged to lead Nigeria to promised land.
Tinubu has failed woefully, he actualized his life ambition of being the President and Commander in Chief of Nigeria Armed Forces. Nigerians should send him back home.
CONCLUSION:
The bitter truth Nigerians should know is that President Donald Trump and his allies will not and cannot fix Nigeria for us, it's time for the good people of Nigeria to take the bull by the horns and be fully committed to recovering the Nation from locusts and cankerworms.
Nigerians can no longer afford to be doing things the same way and keep hoping for different results.
